Berbekal kegagalan dari seri sebelumnya yang harus dipangkas harganya agar tetap bertahan dipasar, mereka kembali dengan seri terbaru yang diklaim lebih bertenaga serta lebih handal. Tablet “Blackberry Playbook 2012” hadir dengan spesifikasi yang mampu bersaing dengan produk tablet Android maupun Ipad 2. Hal itu terlihat pada spesifikasi processor yang digunakan sudah mendukung kecepatan 1.5 GHz serta fitur lain yang menunjangnya. Perangkat ini juga memiliki kecepatan akases internet higga 42 Mbps pada jaringan 3.5G. fitur lain yang menarik adalah A-GPS, NFC Support, serta document viewer.
